Turkey Pen Hollow Trail explores the Niangua Arm of Lake of the Ozarks from above, following the wooded shoreline through a landscape pockmarked with sinkholes and seep springs typical of Missouri's karst Ozarks. Wild turkey are genuinely common here, giving the hollow its name from early settler observations. Spring wildflowers including Dutchman's breeches, wild columbine, and trout lily bloom prolifically in March and April along the moist limestone slopes.
